Priest

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The pastor was a pastor who was employed by a parish for a period of time.

In the late Middle Ages until the Reformation , the parish was looked after by the responsible pastor. Since this was usually well educated, he was often used to serve and help with surrounding gentlemen ( landed gentry, etc.). This threatened to orphan the responsible community. Therefore, priests were hired without a permanent church ; as now is the Middle Low German still in Dutch whoring as much as hiring , rent. From these circumstances the expression Hurpfarrer arose.

In the early reformation, many evangelical clergymen were former pastors because they were not tied to a specific location and could therefore choose congregations that or whose rule suited their religious denomination.
