Hyeonjun Jo

Hyeonjun Jo (born May 9, 1994 in Bucheon ) is a South Korean pianist . Jo studied piano with Håkon Austbø in Oslo, Andreas Groethuysen and Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch in Salzburg and at the same time organ with Elisabeth Ullmann in Salzburg.

At the age of 18, Hyeonjun Jo was already playing the complete piano works of Olivier Messiaen . In 2013 he recorded his piano cycle Catalog d´Oiseaux (1956-58) and the piano piece La Fauvette des Jardins (1970).

On April 9, 2016, Hyeonjun Jo won the Richard Strauss Competition 2016 in the piano category in Munich.
