Keter Publishing House

Keter Publishing House is a leading book publisher from Jerusalem . It was created in 2005 from the merger of Keter Publishing and Steimatzky. The publisher is particularly known for its program on Modern Hebrew Literature . He also published the first edition of the Encyclopaedia Judaica from 1971 to 1972 . Keter Publishing was founded in 1958 as a state-owned company at the instigation of the future mayor of Jerusalem Teddy Kollek . The first books were translated for the National Science Foundation . In 1987 the publishing house was privatized and large shares were held by Robert Maxwell . Today the program includes a. Aharon Appelfeld , Uri Orlev , Amos Oz , Alona Kimchi , Savyon Liebrecht , Sayed Kashua and Zeruya Shalev .
