Hyon-Soo Kim

Hyon-Soo Kim (born January 22, 1956 in Uiseong , South Korea ) is a South Korean contemporary artist .

Life

Hyon-Soo Kim was born the second of five siblings. From 1975 to 1977 she studied applied arts at the Andong University of Applied Sciences . Then she started an apprenticeship as a goldsmith in Seoul and worked as a freelance goldsmith there from 1981 to 1984.

In 1984 Kim moved to Germany and from 1986 studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich under Hans Baschang , where she also graduated in 1993. She had her first solo exhibition in 1996 in the Ignaz Günther -Haus Artothek, Munich. Further exhibitions followed in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Austria and South Korea.

She has a daughter and lives and works in Munich.
