Hypatia (magazine)

Hypatia. A Journal of Feminist Philosophy is the title of an English-language, peer-reviewed journal on feminist philosophy . It was founded in 1986 at Indiana University Bloomington and is published quarterly by Wiley-Blackwell in San Francisco .

The magazine is named after the Greek philosopher and mathematician Hypathia of Alexandria. It sees itself as a forum for outstanding current work in the field of feminist philosophy. The first edition appeared on April 14, 1986. The editor-in-chief is Sally Scholz, professor of philosophy at Villanova University .

Book reviews have been published on the Hypatia Reviews Online Open Access platform since 2012 .
