Hyphae system

The fruiting body of a mushroom can consist of different hyphae types or forms, which fulfill different tasks within the hyphae system . In addition to mostly thin-walled and translucent generative hyphae, there are also connective hyphae and skeletal hyphae .

Monomitic hyphae systems

These consist of similar, mostly thin-walled, translucent hyphae. Generative and non-generative hyphae cannot be distinguished.

Dimitic hyphae systems

Hyphae system with two different types of hyphae, mostly with generative hyphae and skeletal hyphae, more rarely with generative hyphae and connective hyphae.

Trimitic hyphae systems

A hypha system with three types of hyphae. In addition to the generative hyphae, there are also connective hyphae and skeletal hyphae.
