The Hysen Pasha Mosque ( Albanian  Xhamia e Hysen Pashës ) is a mosque in the central Albanian city ​​of Berat .

According to Evliya Çelebi , the mosque was built in 1670/71 by Hysen Pascha in the Murat Çelebi district , part of the suburb west of the castle. Today the mosque is surrounded by apartment houses .

In the 1870s, the mosque was thoroughly renovated. After a clock tower was built next to the mosque in the 1870s (which was destroyed in 1967), the mosque was often called the clock tower mosque (alb. Xhamia e Sahatit ). The name is still in use today. In 2017 a reconstruction of the clock tower was under construction.

The minaret , which Çelebi described as beautiful and elegant , was demolished in 1967. In 1994 it was rebuilt. Other sources, however, write that only the minaret of the old building has been preserved. Current photos show a new building or at least a modern renovated building.

The mosque is a national cultural monument of Albania.
