I'm Goin 'South is a pop song written by Abner Silver and Harry MacGregor Woods and released in 1924. In the same year Al Jolson was successful with the song in the American charts.

The songwriting team Silver & Woods wrote I'm Goin 'South for the musical Bombo , which also performed the song California Here I Come by Joseph Meyer and Buddy DeSylva . Al Jolson introduced the song, accompanied by the Isham Jones Orchestra. Eddie Cantor then took over the song in the musical Kid Boots .

First recordings and later cover versions
