IAB Establishment Panel
The IAB company panel is a representative annual survey of companies, carried out on behalf of and under the direction of the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) of the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg .
In oral interviews, as a rule, including the management, around 16,000 companies of all branches and sizes from one employee subject to social security contributions in western Germany (since 1993) and eastern Germany (since 1996) are surveyed. The companies (not companies) are selected with a sample stratified according to size classes and economic sectors . The complex of questions includes selected business indicators and employment policy issues such as employment development, turnover, investments, personnel policy , remuneration , working hours , training and further education , collective bargaining agreements and employee representation .
In 2014, the 22nd wave of the survey was carried out in West Germany and the 19th wave in East Germany. There is now an extensive data set that has also been available to external researchers for longitudinal analyzes of the demand side of the labor market since 1999 .
