Reginald H. Sullivan

Reginald H. Sullivan (born March 10, 1876 in Indianapolis , † January 30, 1980 ibid) was an American politician ( Democratic Party ).

Reginald Sullivan came from a political dynasty. His father, Thomas L. Sullivan, was Mayor of Indianapolis from 1890 to 1893. His first political function was from 1911 to 1913 as a member of the Indiana Senate . In 1929, Sullivan was elected mayor of Indianapolis. He held this office from 1930 to 1935 and from 1939 to 1943. He was also a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1932 and 1940 .

In 1974, Sullivan was one of the first to be elected to the Indiana Democratic Hall of Fame . Reginald Sullivan, who remained unmarried, died on January 30, 1980 as one of the longest-lived politicians in the United States at the age of 103 and was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery , Indianapolis.
