The IBM Almaden Research Center near San José , California is an IBM research center .

The Almaden Research Center specializes in basic research in materials science on the one hand and applied research in the field of storage technology on the other.

On May 2, 2013, the stop-motion animation film A Boy and His Atom was presented, for which atoms were specifically moved in order to generate the individual images. This film was produced at the Almaden Research Center.
