INFORSE ( International Network for Sustainable Energy ) is a network of independent non-governmental organizations that campaign for sustainable energy supply. The organization with offices in Aarhus has 160 members from more than 70 countries.

aims

Its main goal is the development of a sustainable energy supply using energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies ( photovoltaics , solar thermal energy , wind power , biomass , small hydropower plants, etc.) with the vision of a fairer and more humane world. INFORSE stands for sustainable development , environmental protection , climate protection , poverty reduction , nuclear phase-out and is committed to combating gender-specific injustices in developing countries .

history

The network was founded in 1992 at the Global Forum (parallel conference of non-governmental organizations to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development ) in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil. The given goals were environmental protection , nuclear phase-out and increasing the quota of women in high positions.

activities

INFORSE has NGO observer status at UN ECOSOC , UNFCCC and takes part in several UN conferences and their parallel NGO forums. Participation in the following conferences, among others:
