The ISACA ( ISACA ) is an independent, global professional association for IT auditors, accountants and experts of information security and IT governance . The ISACA supports its members with offers for training and further education as well as the development, introduction and use of globally recognized specialist knowledge and methods.

The international ISACA umbrella organization is based in the USA, supports over 215 local chapters in 188 countries and has more than 150,000 members. The ISACA was formed in 1967 through the merger of a group of computer systems auditors who recognized the growing need for information in their professional field. In 1969 the EDP ​​Auditors Association was formally founded .

Today ISACA organizes a number of international conferences, publishes the ISACA Journal (until 2008: Information Systems Control Journal ), develops international auditing standards and awards the globally recognized professional certifications

ISACA develops and maintains the COBIT framework for governance and management of corporate IT.

The Germany Chapter of ISACA was founded on April 14, 1986 in Düsseldorf and now has over 3,000 members in Germany.
