ISDN monitor

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An ISDN monitor is a software or hardware component that monitors incoming and outgoing signaling information on the D channel of an ISDN connection and transmits the signaling data determined to a logging unit (journal). Software-based ISDN monitors usually use the CAPI interface to read the signaling data of the D channel. With some devices it is also possible to listen to the user data transmitted on the B channels .

use

ISDN monitors are available for almost all interfaces commonly used in ISDN (e.g. S 0 , S 2M , U interfaces ).

The ISDN monitor shows who the caller is even before a call is accepted. The caller's telephone number, name (if stored), MSN number, date and time and call handling are displayed. It is also possible to have different sound files played for incoming calls. The monitor also includes the option of creating a small telephone book or a telephone list.

The recorded data is saved in a text file.
