ISO / IEC 18000

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The ISO / IEC 18000 is an ISO standard which for different frequency bands , the specification for the so-called air interface determined.

The telegram contents and details of the various RFID technologies for general and special applications are specified in further standards. In particular, the use of RFID tags for electronic ID cards is dealt with in other ISO standards.

ISO / IEC 18000 consists of the following parts under the general title Information technology - Identification of goods using radio frequency (RFID) for the management of the flow of goods (all standard parts are only available in English):

  1. Part: Reference architecture and definition of the parameters to be standardized
  2. Part: Parameters for communication on frequencies below 135 kHz
  3. Part: Parameters for communication with passive tags on the ISM frequency of 13.56 MHz
  4. Part: Parameters for communication with active tags on the ISM frequency of 2.45 GHz
  5. Part: no longer used
  6. Part: Parameters for communication with passive tags on frequencies from 860 to 960 MHz
  7. Part: Parameters for communication with active tags on the frequency of 433 MHz

The various parts of the ISO / IEC 18000 standard describe air interfaces for the different frequency bands in order to be able to make the best possible use of the frequency-dependent physical behavior in accordance with other uses in these frequency bands.

Conformity test methods for ISO / IEC 18000 are defined in ISO / IEC 18047 , performance test methods in ISO / IEC 18046 .

The active NFC tags with the ISM frequency 13.56 MHz are treated under the standards ISO / IEC 13157, -16353, -22536, -28361.

Data security when using RFID tags is qualified according to the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (ISO / IEC 15408).

The RFID emblem is defined under ISO / IEC 29160.
