ISO 11239

ISO 11239: 2012 is a standard of the International Organization for Standardization defined (ISO), the following:

  • Data elements, structures and relationships between data elements for the exchange of information;
  • Dosage forms , pharmaceutical conventional units, types of application and packaging elements (containers, closures and dosing aids);
  • a mechanism for linking to translations of the terms in different languages;
  • a concept for versioning in order to be able to understand the development of a term;
  • Rules that enable authorities to harmonize local terms with the terms of this standard and to link them in terms of content.

The standard was developed in the working group WG6 (Pharmacy) of the Technical Committee ISO TC 215 Health Informatics .
