ISO 19123 Geographic Information - Coverage Geometry and Functional Scheme is a standard for geographic information from the ISO 191xx series. It has also been available as the German DIN EN ISO 19123 since June 2007 .

The standard deals with the structural and functional aspects of coverages . Examples of coverages are e.g. B. digital elevation models or raster images . ISO 19123 defines a conceptual scheme for the spatial characteristics of coverages. Coverages consist of a collection of positions that can be defined in relation to up to three spatial dimensions and reflect spatial, temporal or spatiotemporal statements. They can be grids , irregular networks, point data, or polygon data .
