ISO 233

ISO 233 ( Transliteration of Arabic characters into Latin characters ) is an international standard for the scientific transliteration of Arabic into Latin characters . The second part of the standard ( ISO 233-2: 1993 ) describes a simplified form for the transcription of the Arabic language ; the third part ( ISO 233-3: 1999 ) one for the Persian language .
