IToaster

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The iToaster was a network computer presented in 1999 by Microworkz . Above all, it should be distinguished by its low price and should only be delivered with minimal equipment and non -name software . The computer was sold for around $ 200 and had a Pentium processor, 32 MB of main memory , a hard disk and a 56k - Modem . A mixture of Linux and BeOS was planned as the operating system ; in addition, only a web browser and the most important Office applications were to be pre-installed. Further software installations were not possible.

Although it initially triggered a short-term euphoria, the iToaster, like many similar products, was unable to maintain its position on the market for very long.
