I Could Have Told You is a pop song written by Jimmy Van Heusen (music) and Carl Sigman and released in 1954.

Van Heusen's song I Could Have Told You was best known in the version by Frank Sinatra , who recorded it on December 9, 1953. In the field of jazz he was also picked up in the 50s by vocalists Mel Tormé , Dinah Washington and The Four Freshmen ; As an instrumental title it was recorded during this time by Joe Newman , Ralph Sharon , Johnny Smith , Eddie Heywood .
