Ralph Sharon

Ralph Sharon (born September 17, 1923 in London , † March 31, 2015 in Boulder , Colorado ) was a British - American jazz pianist of modern jazz . He accompanied Chris Connor and Tony Bennett .

Live and act

Ralph Sharon played in London with Pete Chilver , Cab Kaye , Ted Heath , Kenny Baker , Jack Parnell and in 1948 with Ronnie Scott ; he also had his own sextet there. At the end of 1959 he emigrated to the USA, performed as a soloist in New York and from 1955 accompanied the singer Chris Connor and Carmen McRae with his quintet, which also included Herbie Mann , Joe Puma , Milt Hinton and Osie Johnson . From 1957 he was a frequent accompanist for Tony Bennett. Sharon died on March 31, 2015 at the age of 91 in Boulder, Colorado.
