The R&B song was released on August 1, 1990 and became the second number one hit in the United States after Baby, Come to Me Ingrams. For the 1991 Grammy Awards , the song was nominated for Best Male Vocal Performance - Pop , but lost to Roy Orbison's classic Oh, Pretty Woman .
