Baby, Come to Me is a song by Patti Austin and James Ingram , produced in 1981 and released as a single in 1982. It was written by Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones . In the US , the song became a number one hit.

history

It originally appeared on Patti Austin's album Every Home Should Have One from 1981. It was released as a single in the winter of 1982. Even before it was officially released as a single, Baby, Come to Me reached number 73 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982 .

In 1983 the song became the theme song for the soap opera General Hospital on US broadcaster ABC . ABC received many inquiries about the title, so that the record label Warner Brothers decided to release the song again as a single . The re-release finally reached # 1 in the US in 1983.
