Stephanie Winslow (born August 27, 1956 in Yankton , South Dakota ) is an American country singer who celebrated her greatest success in the 1980s.

Career

Between 1979 and 1984 Stephanie Winslow hit 17 hits in the American country charts. Her first hit was also her only top ten success: Say You Love Me (1979), a remake of the Fleetwood Mac song of the same name . With a Roy Orbison cover, Crying , she achieved a top 15 success in 1980, further country remakes such as Baby I'm-a Want You (1980, original by Bread ), When You Walk in the Room (1981, Jackie DeShannon ) and their last listing from 1984, Baby, Come to Me ( James Ingram and Patti Austin ) followed. Winslow recorded their only two albums, Crying (1980) and Dakota (1981) for Warner / Curb . In 1982 she switched to the Primero label for a few singles. Winslow wrote some of her own songs, played fiddle and disappeared completely from the headlines of country music after 1984.
