I hate this place is a one-man synthpop project by the Filipino- American musician Sean Nerney (born December 24, 1983 in Singapore ).

history

The project originated in the USA in 2003 . In 2004 the first album, "One Minute Mayhem", was released, which contained a collection of pop songs. "Diversions" followed in 2005, "Aero" in 2006. The latter already had the typical sound of I hate this place today: experimental, but also poppy electronic soundscapes with melancholy lyrics and the withdrawn vocals of Sean Nerney. The 2007 album "Nowhere Else" prompted the Japanese label MediaFactory's XTAL Records to offer Nerney a record deal. After a compilation of his previous work was first produced there ("Never Go", 2008), the album "Our Hearts Still Beating" was released in the same year, which became more widely known. He was followed in 2009 by the album "Snowlights".

Sean Nerney lives in Singapore .

Potatoe was released in 2013.
