Ian Ferguson (producer)
Ian Ferguson (* 20th century ) is / was a British film producer , screenwriter and filmmaker.
biography
Ferguson first appeared in film in 1947 as a production assistant in the documentary short Children Growing Up with Other People . He produced his first film in 1953, the short film West Country Journey . In the short film Fully Fitted Freight from 1957, Ralph Keene and Ferguson thematized a freight transport that was en route from Bristol to Leeds via the Midlands . Ferguson worked with Keene several times.
With his film Journey Into Spring , a short documentary, Ferguson was nominated for an Oscar in the category “Best Short Film” in 1959 and was able to take home the BAFTA Film Award . With the documentary short film Between the Tides produced by him in 1959, Ferguson was also nominated for an Oscar the following year. The film shows how animals and plants cope with the living conditions on the British west coast.
The 1961 short documentary Wild Highlands was directed by Ferguson. The film shows the flora and fauna of the Scottish highlands, but also photos of ospreys and deer in Argyle. Between 1973 and 1975 Ian Ferguson wrote the scripts for three short documentaries.
