Idaho Panhandle

The Idaho Panhandle ( German about "Idaho-Landzipfel" or "Idaho-Pfannenstiel") is a region in the north of the US state Idaho consisting of 10 counties . The tip of the land reaches a length of over 500 kilometers and a width of about 250 km, which makes up a size of 54,422 km² and thus amounts to 25.4% of the national territory. In the United States Census 2010 the population in the Panhandle was 317,751 inhabitants, which means about 20.3% of the population live there.
