Ideal is a German company for office machines.

history

The IDEAL company was founded on July 1st, 1951 by Wilhelm Krug and Ludwig Priester at Tübinger Strasse 7 in Balingen . Fields of activity were the trade, repair and manufacture of office machines . In 1953 the manufacture of was stencil duplicators, cutting machines , pens and tree spraying transferred to the first company-owned building on the Schickhardtstraße. In 1956 the production building was enlarged with additions. Manufacturing now focused on the production of cutting machines and duplicating machines. In 1958 the production program was expanded to include pile cutters. In 1959 the company developed shredders for the American market; In addition to the cutting machines, these became the second mainstay in production and worldwide sales. Production and administration were brought together in a new office building on Schickhardtstrasse. Due to increasing demand, new production areas were created between 1964 and 1966. In the 1970s the company was restructured and expanded further.

In 1986, another land purchase made it possible to build a powder coating facility . In 1990 an administration building with a logistics center was inaugurated on Simon-Schweitzer-Strasse.

In 1994 IDEAL acquired 93 percent of the share capital in EA Clementz & Cie., Reichstett, the longstanding general agency for France. To date, the company has developed into one of the world's leading manufacturers of office machines, in particular document shredders, office cutting machines and air purifiers .
