If Wishes Came True is a 1990 Sweet Sensation song written by Deena Charles, Russ DeSalvo, and Robert Steele. It appeared on the Love Child album and was produced by Steve Peck.

history

The album version of the song begins with strings and a guitar solo , then you hear a synthesizer , then a powerful electric guitar solo and then the singing begins. The strings and the guitar solo are not present in the cut version of the song. With If Wishes Came True , a power ballad , the girl group embarked on a new path, as they previously only produced songs of the Latin Freestyle genre . It was released on June 14, 1990.

According to the Billboard Book of Number One Hits, members cried for days after learning that the song hit the top of the Billboard Hot 100 . This song reached number 87 on Billboard's list of 100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time .

Music video

The music video was shot in New York City and at a film studio that also includes the members of Sweet Sensation. In the New York City scenes you see Betty LeBron standing in the rain and she indulges longingly about the times with her ex-boyfriend in the clip.
