Sculpture of the eternal student Julius

Igavene üliõpilane Juulius ( German  Eternal Student Julius ) is a sculpture in the Estonian capital Tallinn ( Reval ).

It is located directly in front of the main entrance to the Tallinn University of Technology .

The bronze sculpture depicting a broadly grinning, pot-bellied man was created by the sculptor Tiiu Kirsipuu . The life-size, two-meter-high eternal student Julius extends his right hand in a friendly manner to greet the people striving towards the entrance of the university.

The sculpture was inaugurated on September 15, 2008 on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Technical University in the presence of the Rector Peep Sürje and the Chairman of the Student Union Heiki Beres . The idea for the character of the fat Julius goes back to 1991.
