Ignacio de la Garza
Ignacio "Nacho" de la Garza was a Mexican football goalkeeper who is considered by some sources, along with Rafael Garza Gutiérrez, to be the founder of Club América . Accordingly, the two students merged the previously independent clubs Récord and Colón , creating the Club América.
"Nacho" de la Garza played from the foundation of Club America in October 1916 until the end of his active career in 1930, presumably exclusively for this club. He is also the first national goalkeeper in the history of the Mexican national team and played all six international matches in 1923, which Mexico played exclusively against its southern neighbor Guatemala.
