Ignatius Bohrer (also: Johann Ignaz Bohrer ) († April 12, 1759 in Mainz ) was a German architect and court mason from Mainz.

Life

Bohrer and Georg Schneller built the hall church St. Nazarius in Lorsch in 1725/26 according to plans by Johannes Weydt .

In 1732 he set up the deanery in Idstein .

Ignaz Bohrer designed the Streitkirche in Kronberg im Taunus , which was completed in 1739, but was never consecrated and used as a church because of the church dispute. The church tower was demolished in 1765 and the structure was converted into a civil building.

Bohrer was involved as a master bricklayer in the construction of the Jesuit Church in Mainz, which no longer exists, from 1742 to 1746. The building was laid down again by 1811 after it was badly damaged in the bombardment of Mainz in 1793.
