Igor Rudolfovich Plewe

Igor Rudolfowitsch Plewe ( Russian Игорь Рудольфович Плеве ; born June 14, 1958 in Prokopjewsk , USSR ) is a Soviet or Russian historian who specializes in the German minority of the former Soviet Union .

Life

From 1975 to 1980 Plewe, the son of deported Volga German parents, successfully studied history at the Saratov State University . As a result, he worked as a history and social science teacher in the Saratov region . As the youngest research assistant, he worked in the archaeological research laboratory of Saratov University from May 1983. In 1986 Plewe was appointed Assistant History of the USSR, and in 1987 Professor of the same department. This was followed by a position as deputy dean at the history faculty of his Saratov University from 1988 to 1993. Two years later, he moved to the Socio-Economic Institute of Saratov (Russian Саратовский социально-экономический институт), where he obtained his doctorate.
