The Igreja da Póvoa de Santo Adrião is the Catholic parish church of the Portuguese parish of Póvoa de Santo Adrião (Odivelas district).

history

The single-nave church dates from the 16th century, when Póvoa de Loures was raised to an independent community. A base plate by the baptismal font is dated to 1540, the portal in simple Manueline style to 1560. In the 17th century the nave was decorated with azulejos at the behest of Francisco da Silva de Noronha . In 1742 a sundial was installed. In 1802 the painter Pedro Alexandrino de Carvalho , who lived in the village, made some paintings.

The church was declared a Monumento Nacional in 1971 . The patron saint is St. Adrian of Nicomedia .
