Iiu Susiraja
Iiu Susiraja (born September 15, 1975 in Turku ) is a Finnish artist who became known for her photographs and videos .
life and work
Iiu Susiraja's maiden name was Pirre Karvinen, which she changed to Iiu Susiraja in 2006.
From 1994 to 1996 she studied painting at the Finnish Academy of Arts and Crafts, from 2001 to 2005 textile design at the Institute for Design, from 2008 to 2012 photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turun, and from 2013 to 2018 at the Academy of Beautiful Arts in Helsinki . There she did her Master of Arts in fine arts .
Susiraja starts her artistic work by first writing different objects on a list, e.g. B. a chainsaw, flowers or a turkey. The further use of her body then gives the whole thing a twist.
