Ilan Chester (Ilan Czenstochouski ; born July 30, 1952 in Tel Aviv ) is a Venezuelan musician and singer.

The son of Polish Jews who had emigrated to Palestine before the outbreak of World War II, grew up in Venezuela from 1954 and graduated from the Colegio Moral y Luces there . As a musician, he was inspired by the Puerto Rican multi-instrumentalist Tito Rodríguez , but also by rhythm and blues and British rock, and he also recorded elements of classical music, jazz, Afro-Caribbean and Venezuelan music.

He was initially a member of Venezuelan bands such as Sugar, Cocoa & Milk , Gerry Weil & His Band , Bacro , Syma , and Sky White Meditation . He had his breakthrough as a solo musician in 1978 with the album Night and Daydream / Wheels of Time . With Canciones de Todos in 1983 began his ten-year-long collaboration with the label Sonographica . At Sony Music Entertainment albums appeared Un Mundo mejor (1992) and Terciopelo (1994).

As a freelance artist, he released the successful three albums of Cancionero del Amor Venezolano (1998, 2000 and 2006). In 2009 his collection of six CDs, Tesoros de la Musica Venezolana , was published, of which more than 500,000 copies were sold in Venezuela alone in the first month. On the album Tributo a las Beatles (2010), which also included musicians like Néstor Torres , Ricky Martin and Ana Gabriel , he sang a cover version of the Beatles song Here, There and Everywhere ( Aquí, Alla y en Todas Partes ).
