Ilse Fischer (mathematician)

Ilse Fischer (born June 29, 1975 in Klagenfurt ) is an Austrian professor of mathematics at the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna .

Ilse Fischer studied at the University of Vienna, where she graduated in 1998. In 2000 she did her doctorate with Christian Krattenthaler . From 1999 to 2004 Fischer worked as a university assistant at the Alpen-Adria-Universität Klagenfurt , and in 2001 she did research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on a scholarship from the University of Klagenfurt . Since 2004 she has been back at her home university in Vienna, where she completed her habilitation in 2006 . In 2006, Ilse Fischer received the Dr. Maria Schaumayer Prize . In 2009 she won the START Prize of the FWF . For 2019 she was awarded the David P. Robbins Prizeawarded by the AMS. Ilse Fischer is a member of the combinatorial group at the faculty. Among other things, she deals with counting problems .
