Ilse R. Wolff

Ilse R. Wolff (born March 25, 1908 in Glatz , Silesia, † 2001 in London ) was a German-English editor and publisher.

Life

Ilse R. Wolff grew up in Berlin. From 1933 until she emigrated, she worked for the Reich Representation of Jews in Germany , from 1939 in London as an employee of Alfred Wiener , the founder of the Wiener Library . From 1947 until she left in 1966, she headed the library and published its subject catalogs.

After the death of her husband, Oswald Wolff, Ilse R. Wolff took over the management of Oswald Wolff Verlag, which mainly dealt with literature, history, art in German-speaking countries and monographs on Anglo-German relations.

Ilse R. Wolff was a member of the PEN Center for German-Language Authors Abroad .
