On the hunt for the Magai, ancient evil spirits, the Egyptian high priest Imhotep is stranded in modern Japan. With no knowledge of the modern world around him, he causes all kinds of trouble and eventually meets the student Hinome Hawakata. Her family collects artifacts and Hinome is rumored to be cursed and spitting fire, which is why her classmates avoid her. And Hinome actually shoots flames from her mouth when she opens it. This curse is caused by a Magai who has taken possession of her, and Imhotep is able to help her. Since he likes the dark house of the Hawakata family, he wants to find shelter with them and fight the Magai from here. Hinome's father, who is enthusiastic about antiquity, admires Imhotep and, unlike his daughter, agrees immediately.

The series was published from January 2015 to 2018 in Shōnen Gangan magazine by Square Enix . This brought out the chapters in eleven edited volumes. A German translation of the series has been published by Carlsen Manga in five volumes since November 2018 . An English version is published by Yen Press , a Spanish version by Norma Editorial .
