Lists on the subject

The Imbemba or Iszenze is an African ax . African axes were developed and used in different countries and by different ethnic groups in Africa as weapons of war, hunting, culture and civil status. The respective designation of the weapon refers to a variant of this weapon type that is assigned to a certain ethnic group .

description

The Imbemba has a narrow, single-edged, V-shaped blade. It has a relatively narrow tang and is attached to it in the shaft. The blade is shorter towards the end of the shaft than the point that points towards the blade head. The point that points to the blade head is longer, pointed and protrudes above the blade head. This also makes the ax suitable for stabbing. The shaft is made of wood and is club-shaped and polished as a whole. The Imbemba is used by the Zulu and Congo ethnic groups.
