Imeong

Imeong is a place in the center of the administrative state of Ngeremlengui (i.e. an administrative area ), in the west of the island state of Palau in the Pacific . The Imeong Conservation Area , a UNESCO protected area, is located in the vicinity .

geography

The village is located on the river of the same name, which begins in the interior of the island and runs west into the large lagoon. The river has headwaters that rise from the Etiruir and Ngeruach hills southeast of the settlement. It flows into Ngeluong in the northwest. The village itself consists of only two streets. the larger of these runs to the southwest, to Ngermetengel , where bauxite is also mined. In 2009 the village had 132 inhabitants.
