Imperanon was a five-piece melodic death metal band from Finland . Musically they can be compared to well-known bands like Norther and Children of Bodom .
history
The band was formed in 1999. After two self-published demo EPs, the well-known record label Nuclear Blast became aware of the band and finally signed them. In 2004 they released their debut album Stained , which received mixed reviews. Some praised the technical skills of the band, others criticized the obvious reference to well-known bands of the genre, especially Children of Bodom. After the album was released, the then 17-year-old Teemu Mäntysaari joined the band, which now also belongs to Wintersun . The keyboardist Aleksi Virta has also been Finntroll's tour keyboardist since 2005 .
The band's newer songs, which were made available as a demo for free download from the official website, differed greatly from the genre of the album Stained ; one can rather assign this to metalcore.
In the end, only the drummer Jaakko Nylund was left of the original line-up. According to their Myspace page, the band split up in July 2007.
