Imprivata is an IT security solutions company headquartered in Lexington , Massachusetts . The company, founded in 2002, develops and sells the OneSign platform for securing employee access to desktop PCs, networks and applications.

With branches in the USA, Great Britain, Germany and Australia, Imprivata supports over 1,900 customers and more than 200 value added reseller partners around the world.

Corporate development

Imprivata was founded by entrepreneurs who developed innovative identity management technologies as part of their work for the Polaroid Small Business Incubator . In 2004 Imprivata presented its first product, the “OneSign Single Sign-On Appliance for Companies”. In 2005, Imprivata expanded its corporate structure to include the regions of Europe, Africa and the Middle East and, with OneSign 3.0, presented a further development of the platform, which was characterized by improved expansion options and more comprehensive, strong authentication management.
