Inal Grigoryevich Dschiojew ( Russian Инал Григорьевич Джиоев ; born November 5, 1969 in South Ossetia ) is a former Russian football player of Ossetian origin.
life and career
Inal Dschiojew is ethnic Ossetian was in the then-Soviet South Ossetia born. His career as a football player began at Spartak Tskhinvali , before the big Alania Wladikawkas club from the Russian North Ossetia (then Spartak Ordzhonikidze) became aware of him in 1989 . With his new club he was able to rise from the second division in 1990 to the Wysschaja Liga , the highest Soviet league. When the Soviet Union finally dissolved in 1991, Spartak Wladikawkas, as his club was called at the time, became a founding member of the new Russian first division . Dschiojew was preferred as a defender and in defensive midfield. When UEFA Cup in 1993/94 , he celebrated his first appearance at the European level, in 1995, he was with his Russian club champions. In the championship season he was team captain. 1996 the second place in the table was reached. In 1997 he ended his career due to knee problems. Overall, he brought it to 216 league games for Wladikawkas in which he scored 16 goals.
After his playing career, he turned his back on Dschiojew football. He later worked as a customs officer in Nalchik . However, he is still a supporter of Alania Wladikawkas and described the club in an interview as the national treasure of Ossetia.
