Indios de Mayagüez

The Indios de Mayagüez are a professional baseball team based in Puerto Rico and based in Mayagüez . With 17 national championships, most recently in 2012, they are the record champions of the Liga de Béisbol Profesional de Puerto Rico (today: Puerto Rico Baseball League ), to which they have belonged since the league was founded in 1938. Together with the Leones de Ponce and the Criollos de Cagua , who in the meantime played as Caguas-Guayama, they are the only continuously active founding team. Twice, in 1978 and 1992, they also won the Caribbean title in the del Caribe series . The home stadium of the Indians is the Estadio Isidoro García , which was built for the 21st Central American and Caribbean Games in 2010 . During the construction work, the team played at the Estadio Luis Canena Márquez in Aguadilla .
