An Indian short sword has a double-edged, broad blade. The blade has no hollow grind and no central ridge. The place is rounded. Shortly in front of the handle , a brass ferrule is attached to the blade, which is used to better secure the blade and handle. The handle and the guard are made of brass. The guard is flat and oval. A brass sleeve that serves as a handle is pulled over the blade tang . The pommel consists of several serrated brass plates that are attached one above the other to form the pommel. The end piece of the knob is screwed on. A counterpart is the Indian long sword . The short sword is used by warrior castes in India.
