Ines Kummer (born December 30, 1962 in Freital ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). As a replacement for Katja Meier, she has been a member of the Saxon State Parliament since January 2020 .

Life

After completing secondary school in 1979, Ines Kummer completed an apprenticeship as a skilled worker for industrial measurement, control and regulation technology in the textile industry until 1982, after which she qualified as a technician in this area in 1986. She then studied social sciences for a year at the Dresden district party school and then worked for the SED district leadership in Freital. At the time of reunification she switched to business and from 2001 worked for various members of the Bundestag or a state parliament.

Politics and party

Ines Kummer was a member of the SED from 1980 to 1989 , and in 1998 she joined the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party. She held a mandate on the city council of Freital from 2004 to 2006 and again since 2014.
