InfluxDB is an open source database management system (DBMS), especially for time series (Engl. Timeseries). It is developed and distributed by the InfluxData company .
history
The software was developed by Errplane Inc. in 2012, the name of the company was changed to InfluxData, Inc. in December 2015. InfluxData is based in San Francisco .
technology
InfluxDB has a command language similar to SQL . Two TCP - ports are occupied, 8086for client / server communication with the InfluxDB HTTP API and 8088the RPC Service for data backup or restore. A time service is important for the operation of the database, e.g. B. via ntpd , so that the time is the same across all systems and the data can be compared.
InfluxData offers InfluxDB in three versions:
- InfluxDB as open source as download
- InfluxCloud on Amazon AWS as a payment model
- InfluxEnterprise as a payment model with maintenance, cluster function, hardened system, access control
