Information, communication, administration

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Information, Communication, Administration (IKA) is a combination of subjects of vocational training of skilled merchants in Switzerland .

The term arose together with the reform (new basic commercial training) in 1998. Subjects that used to be individual subjects in commercial training are combined in IKA and have been expanded.

The new subject serves to prepare the learners for their everyday work on the computer. Due to the fact that IKA skills are mostly used across disciplines and topics, they are considered key competencies .

As of 2015, IKA consists of the following subject areas:

  • Computer basics (IT basics and operating systems)
  • Word processing (Word)
  • Spreadsheet (Excel)
  • Presentation (PowerPoint)
  • Internet and e-mail (Internet Explorer and Outlook)
  • Office communication (telephone communication, organization)
  • Business language (correspondence → letters, e-mails, minutes)
  • (Image editing)

The subject is usually completed in the second year of the apprenticeship with a central apprenticeship final exam.
