Information and Privacy Commissioner of Saskatchewan

The Information and Privacy Commissioner of Saskatchewan (IPC) is the freedom of information and data protection commissioner for the Canadian province of Saskatchewan .

The IPC is an independent authority based in Regina . The legal bases are The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act , the Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Health Information Protection Act .

Educational institutions, medical institutions and other organizations in Saskatchewan are subject to the IPC's area of ​​responsibility and competence.

The tasks of the IPC include maintaining freedom of information and data protection for the citizens of Saskatchewan. To this end, the IPC conducts public relations work, investigates complaints from citizens and comments on legislative proposals.

Saskatchewan's current IPC is Ronald J. Kruzeniski, QC

IPC Saskatchewan is not yet a member of the International Conference of Commissioners for Data Protection and the Protection of Privacy , but was proposed for acceptance at the 27th International Data Protection Conference from September 14-16, 2005 in Montreux .
